Standard Battle Clauses

The following battle clauses have been decided upon by this forum's heads and put into effect so that they prevent the abuse of certain extreme factors in the game, such as putting all of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep, which would obviously not be fair since it leaves your opponent unable to battle.

STANDARD BATTLE CLAUSES:


Uber Clause
All Uber tier Pokemon are banned in Standard battles. (Unless its an Uber battle) Refer to the tier list in order to find out what Pokémon are considered Uber.


Legality Clause
All Pokémon must have legitimate stats, abilities and movesets, regardless of where or who they were obtained from. Hacked Pokémon are fine, as long as they don't have any unnatural aspects to them that interrupt battles. (Such as 31 IVs across the board, 255 EVs in each stat, Spiritomb with the ability wonder guard, Heatran with surf etc. would all be unacceptable)


Sleep Clause
You cannot put any more than one of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep at the same time. But this doesn't apply if your opponent's Pokémon uses rest. If your opponent's Pokémon has Natural Cure or any ability as such, you can put that Pokémon to sleep legally while another Pokémon is asleep. This clause also means that you're not allowed to have two sleeping Pokémon or more on your side of the team, too. The same thing applies for the Natural Cure rule.


OHKO (One-Hit KO) Clause
No OHKO moves are allowed. For example, Sheer Cold, Fissure, Guillotine, etc...


Species Clause
I want a team of either Metapod or Magikarp only to eternally spam the hell out of someone. No two of the same Pokemon may be used on one team. This includes two different forms of the same species as well. (Such as Wormadam's different cloaks)


Selfdestruct Clause
The moves Selfdestruct, Explosion, Perish Song, Destiny Bond, or any other such move may not be used if both players only have one remaining Pokemon.


Evasion clause
Evasion-boosting moves such as Double Team and Minimize are banned.


Hax/Luck Item Clause
Certain luck-activated items are not allowed in Standard battles. They include;
- Brightpowder
- Focus band
- King's rock
- Lansat berry
- Quick claw
- Razor claw
- Razor fang
- Scope lens
- Lax incense

Violation of a clause results in an automatic loss for the offending player.
These clauses apply to all tournaments and events held on this site (unless stated otherwise). As far as any casual battles are concerned, the rules may be modified free to the battler's will.
